Astrocartography: Your Cosmic Geography

Astrocartography (also known as locational astrology or astro-mapping) is a powerful branch of astrology that maps your natal chart onto the geography of the Earth. Created by astrologer Jim Lewis in 1978, it reveals how different locations around the world activate different planetary energies in your chart. 📐 MC, IC, ASC, and DSC Lines

Each planet appears as four different lines on your astrocartography map, corresponding to the four angles: the Midheaven (MC) affects career and public life; the Imum Coeli (IC) affects home and private life; the Ascendant (ASC) affects personal identity and health; and the Descendant (DSC) affects relationships and partnerships. A Venus-DSC line, for example, would be the ultimate place to find a romantic partner.

🗺️ Practical Tips for Using Astrocartography

You don't need to move to experience astrocartography effects — even a vacation can activate a line. The closer you are to a line (within about 300 miles/500 km), the stronger the effect. Also look for "crossing points" where two planetary lines intersect, as these create uniquely powerful energy combinations. Many successful people have unknowingly relocated to their Jupiter or Sun lines before achieving their biggest breakthroughs.

⚠️ Lines to Be Cautious About

While every line has positive potential, some require more awareness. Saturn lines can feel heavy and isolating. Mars lines may bring arguments or accidents. Pluto lines intensify everything to an extreme degree. Neptune lines can create confusion or addictive tendencies. This doesn't mean you should avoid these locations entirely, but being aware of the energy allows you to work with it constructively rather than being caught off guard.
